The Angel Collection was inspired by Terry Brindle, a breast cancer survivor who succumbed to ovarian cancer on September 30, 2009. Terry was an incredible woman who designed the Townsend Leather Angel Collection handbags as a way to make people aware and supportive of cancer research. After defeating breast cancer, Terry battled ovarian cancer for nearly six years. Her life as a cancer survivor and patient was focused on helping those afflicted with cancer and on raising money for research she believed will eventually eliminate this tragic disease.

The Leah Hobo style is a handbag that Terry Brindle designed and named after her granddaughter, Leah. She chose to design and dedicate this bag to Leah to express "a little of her wild side" and to symbolize the joyful, playful side that Leah brought out of her. Terry’s hope for this handbag was to create awareness of the link between breast cancer and ovarian cancer. Terry wanted to use her personal experience with breast cancer and ovarian cancer to educate the public that women who have had breast cancer are at a higher risk for being diagnosed with ovarian cancer. Unlike breast cancer, ovarian cancer does not have early detectable symptoms.

Terry personally designed each detail of this bag from her own favorite features of handbags. The soft, floppy handle, the metallic embossed gator leather, and the teal lining with matching ovarian cancer ribbon on the outside of the bag were all chosen carefully. An inspirational quote from Terry is embossed on the inside pocket and her own artwork design, the "Celebrate Life Angel," is embossed on a leather tag that hangs from the bag.
