The Angel Collection was inspired by Terry Brindle, a breast cancer survivor who succumbed to ovarian cancer on September 30, 2009. Terry was an incredible woman who designed the Townsend Leather Angel Collection handbags as a way to make people aware and supportive of cancer research. After defeating breast cancer, Terry battled ovarian cancer for nearly six years. Her life as a cancer survivor and patient was focused on helping those afflicted with cancer and on raising money for research she believed will eventually eliminate this tragic disease.
The Terry Tote style is a handbag that Terry designed with professional, on-the-go women in mind. She wanted this bag to symbolize the strength and perseverance she found within herself through her breast cancer diagnosis and subsequent journey, making this a larger-sized tote that is sturdy, strong, and large enough for any woman's personal items.
Special details and features of this handbag were personally picked out by Terry and carry significance to her cause of eradicating cancer, such as the embossed front pocket that is meant to resemble the tree of life. She selected both the pink inside lining and the pink ribbon on the outside of the bag to celebrate her survival of breast cancer. An inspirational quote from Terry is embossed on the inside pocket and her own artwork design, the "Celebrate Life Angel," is embossed on a leather tag that hangs from the bag.
